Sep 15, 2016 (newstodate): Danish aircraft leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital has sold two Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 aircraft to Aeroflot.
Aurora Airlines, operating in Russia's Far Eastern region and owned 51 percent by Aeroflot, is the probable operator of the aircraft after taking in its first Q400 aircraft in December 2015 and adding a second aircraft in spring 2016.
The carrier has announced plans for increasing its aircraft fleet from today's 20 to 40 aircraft by 2018.
In the fleet now are 10 Airbus A319 aircraft and 10 turboprop aircraft for regional services under demanding weather and infrastructural conditions.
Aurora Airlines is only the second operator of the Q400 in Russia after Yakutia Airlines, which introduced the aircraft type already in February 2013.
