Sep 26, 2016 (newstodate): The British carrier Monarch Airlines has run into severe adverse winds due to alleged financial difficulties threatening its continued operations.
Earlier this month, the carrier announced its plans for a first flight into Scandinavia on April 28, 2017, on a route to be served three times weekly from Birmingham to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, as well as from London Luton to Stockholm Arlanda two times weekly, and from Manchester to Stockholm Arlanda three times per week - all flights to be performed with Airbus A320/321 aircraft.
Over the weekend, however, a media storm erupted over the alleged immediate cessation of flights by the carrier, but Monarch Airlines now says it is still operating, while due to make an announcement later this week over major new investments in the company.
