Sep 05, 2016 (newstodate): August 2016 proved a month of sustained cargo growth figures at Denmark's Billund Airport.
Continuing a positive trend after a prolonged period of relative stagnation in cargo development, August ended with the handling of a total of 5,573 tonnes of cargo, up 10.7 percent, y-o-y.
Both imports at 2,188 tonnes and exports at 3,385 tonnes were up by 20.6 and 5.2 percent, respectively.
During January-August 2016 the airport has thus generated a total of 42,119 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 0.6 percent which was, however, the first time in 2016 that the accumulated volumes came out in black figures.
The eight-month totals included 14,978 tonnes of imports, up 4.5 percent, y-o-y, and 27,141 tonnes of exports which is, however, still down 1.5 percent compared to 2015.
