Aug 22, 2016 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air has now opened its seventh Romanian base in Sibiu/Hermannstadt.
Starting from August 19, 2016, the carrier is offering flights from Sibiu on four routes to Nuremberg, Madrid, Milan Bergamo and Munich Memmingen, initially basing one Airbus A320 aircraft on the new base.
The first Romanian flight by Wizz Air took off from Bucharest in 2007 and since then the airline is continuously growing its network in Romania, currently offering 119 routes to 18 countries from nine Romanian airports.
Wizz Air plans to grow its fleet in the country to 20 aircraft by the end of 2016, including four Airbus A321 aircraft.
