Aug 19, 2016 (newstodate): Western airlines are increasingly losing their appetite for flights to Russia.
The latest example is provided by the Lufthansa Group's LCC Eurowings announcing the decision to stop flights on its route to Moscow from the start of the coming winter schedule in October.
Earlier, the British LCC easyJet also suspended its flights between Manchester and Moscow in autumn 2015, and from March 2016 the last flights between London and Moscow fared a similar fate.
From January 2016 the German carrier airberlin cancelled its flights from Dusseldorf to Moscow and from Berlin to Moscow and Kaliningrad, and Germanwings also reduced the number of flights to Russia.
And starting from early 2016, SAS also stopped its flights between Copenhagen and Moscow.
