Aug 290, 2016 (newstodate): Worsening market conditions including the present political turmoil in Turkey, terrorist actions and war situation is clipping the wings of Turkish Airlines that has so far seen only positive growth rates.
In response to the decline in market demands, Turkish Airline is thus to reduce traffic from Istanbul Ataturk to European destinations by 192 weekly flights, the number of weekly rotations on long-haul flights will fall by 32, and the European flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport will also go down by 21.
The decrease in this coming winter schedule will also affect the carrier's services to the Scandinavian market, with Oslo to see a drop from 18 to 14 weekly rotations, flights between Istanbul and Copenhagen will be reduced from three to two daily rotations, flights between Istanbul and Billund and Aalborg, Denmark, will also be reduced by one rotation to four weekly services, while the number of services between Istanbul and Stockholm seem to remain unaffected, so far.
