Aug 17, 2016 (newstodate): The Croatian seaplane operator - Europe's only - European Coastal Airlines has been temporarily grounded after inspections revealing deficiencies in their technical aircraft maintenance organization.
This has had immediate repercussions on the Danish seaplane operator Nordic Seaplanes that has been operating Twin Otter flights connecting the Danish capital with Aarhus, the 2nd largest city in Denmark.
Pending an own license, Nordic Seaplanes operates on the Croatian carrier's AOC and has thus been forced to suspend all flights starting from Monday this week.
Nordic Seaplanes launched services in May 2016 and has since performed more than 400 rotations on the route, with only one cancellation caused by fog.
Resumption of also the Danish flight operations will hinge on the Croatian approval of a new Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization for European Coastal Airlines.
