Aug 29, 2016 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is preparing for a major reconstruction of its 2,515 m runway in 2017.
The first part of the project is to start already in a few weeks as the companies Elektros darbai and Fegda will carry out the contract work of reconstructing the runway signal lighting system and primary circuits.
A tender for selecting the contractor for the major works has already been launched, with runway reconstruction work to take place from 14 July 14 until August 17, 2017.
During the period, traffic will be diverted to the two other airports under Airports of Lithuania's management - Kaunas and Palanga, with Kaunas to bear the brunt of the operations.
