Aug 01, 2016 (newstodate): Rather unusually, the Supervisory Board of Riga International Airport has announced a tender for the post of the Chairman of the Board and Members of the Board of Riga International Airport.
At the same time the Supervisory Board has decided to expand the Board of Riga International Airport by one member, to a total of five in order to induce more competencies into the work.
Prospective applicants now have till August 15, 2016, to hand in their applications.
The move comes after the former CEO Andris Liepins and Ilmars Upenieks, a member of the airport' s management board, were sacked in June 2016 after accusation of serious conflicts of interest.
An internal audit conducted by the airport's internal audit suggested that the two managers probably had their personal interests in mind when concluding contracts on behalf of the airport.
