Aug 05, 2016 (newstodate): Once decisions are taken, the e-trade giant Amazon moves fast - also in building its own freighter fleet.
Amazon's new freighters will operate under the name Prime Air,and the first Boeing 767 aircraft has now been presented in its new livery also carrying the brand "Amazon One, operated by Atlas Air".
Amazon will build a fleet comprising 40 Boeing 767 freighters of which 11 have already been delivered.
210 aircraft will be operated on 10-years lease contracts with Atlas Air, and another 20 by ATSG, Air Cargo Transport Services Group.
Amazon will however continue to work also with its current providers FedEx and UPS.
