Aug 10, 2016 (newstodate): Norway is soon to see the launch of services by a new domestic carrier, FlyViking.
Owned and managed by a former Wideroe pilot, Ola Giaver, FlyViking will be offering flights on a route net in Norway comprising small local airports with short runways.
In the fleet will be Bombardier Dash-8-100 aircraft, with the first readying for the delivery flight from Canada to Norway via Greenland and Iceland with the final landing at the future base at Tromsoe.
According to the Norwegian media Nordlys, Mr Giaver plans to lease up to 19 leased aircraft, with the first 10 to be delivered on a leasing contract with the Canadian company Avmax, Canada, over the coming two years.
