Aug 25, 2016 (newstodate): Both KLM and its partner Air France have their eyes set on the upcoming market for flights to Iran in the wake of the lifting of the sanctions.
First out was Air France, in the air with flights from Paris to Tehran since April 2016, now offering three weekly Airbus A330 and Airbus A340 rotations but looking out for access to more frequencies.
Following up from October 30, 2016, KLM will be offering three weekly rotations on their coming new route from Amsterdam to Tehran served with Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
The Air France flights to Tehran compete with both Mahan Air's three weekly flights at Paris CDG, as well as Iran Air's twice-weekly service to Paris Orly, and KLM will be competing with Iran Air that offers two weekly rotations also at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
