Aug 18, 2016 (newstodate): Iceland keeps attracting new airlines into Keflavik Airport, and the trend will seemingly continue in 2017 as well.
Latest newcomer announcing the opening of flights to Keflavik from summer 2017 is Finnair that will introduce four weekly flights from Helsinki to Reykjavik starting from April 11 and running till October 28, 2017.
Finnair's new route to Reykjavik will complement the airline's existing code-share agreement on services operated by its airline partner Icelandair, offering customers fast connections between Asia and Iceland.
Other seasonal summer routes in 2017 by Finnair include flights to Corfu, Menorca and Ibiza, and the carrier will also increase capacity on routes to UK and Ireland.
Yet another newcomer to Iceland already from this winter will be the British charter carrier Thomson Airways that will operate twice-weekly from East Midlands in the UK during the period January 25-March 8, 2017.
