Aug 04, 2016 (newstodate): After a long period of suspension, Iraqi Airways is now preparing to reintroduce flights to European destinations.
The first flights are scheduled for August 6, 2016, from Baghdad, Basra and Najaf to Copenhagen Airport, to be followed soon after by the opening of flights on routes to Stockholm, Frankfurt and London.
In 2015, Iraqi Airways was included in the list of air carriers banned in the European Union, so the upcoming new flights will be operated by chartered capacity from other carriers including Air Explore, that will also be operating the flights to Scandinavian destinations.
