Aug 08, 2016 (newstodate): July 2016 proved another month of strong growth in cargo volumes at Finnair Cargo.
A total of 12,926 tonnes of cargo was transported on Finnair passenger and freighter flights, an increase by 15.9 percent, y-o-y.
Belly cargo loads on scheduled flights were 11,429 tonnes, up 16.3 percent, while freight on purchased and freighter traffic was 1,486 tonnes, up 13.3 percent.
8,148 tonnes were transported on the carrier's Asian lanes, an increase by 11.6 percent, while the largest growth was seen in the European traffic that grew by 37.1 percent to 2,330 tonnes in July.
For the period January-July, volumes were 14.90 percent, y-o-y, to 83,925 tonnes, again primarily driven by a 13 percent growth on the Asian traffic, to 52,450 tonnes.
Finnairs total freight capacity includes two weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels and two weekly freighter flights shared with IAG between Helsinki and London, both operated by DHL, and cargo capacity on JAL's flights between Helsinki and Tokyo.
