Aug 10, 2016 (newstodate): The Danish charter carrier Primera Air is to introduce regular scheduled flights from Stockholm Arlanda Airport from 2017.
Starting from April 6, 2017, the carrier will offer direct flights from Stockholm to Lisbon with one weekly rotation using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Following this, Primera Air will add regular scheduled flights from Stockholm to Barcelona with three weekly rotations, also using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
On the route to Lisbon, Primera Air will be competing with TAP's daily flights, while the route from Stockholm to Barcelona is already operated by Vueling, Norwegian and SAS while another Stockholm airport, Skavsta also offers flights to Barcelona by Ryanair.
In 2016, Primera Air operates flights to 73 destinations in the world, of which seven routes are out of Iceland.
In the fleet are eight Boeing 737NG aircraft, four of which are allocated to Denmark, Primera Air's largest market.
In 2017, the carrier plans to add another two aircraft to the fleet.
Primera Air flies for travel agent Primera Travel Group, as well as other operators in the Nordic countries, but is also seeing a large increase in direct sales by the company on flights to major destinations.
