Jul 29, 2016 (newstodate): Swiss is now backing down from its earlier strategy of growth in the Balkan region.
Earlier in 2016, the carrier suspended flights from Zurich to Ljubljana, as well as from Geneva to Sarajevo and Belgrade, while its subsidiary Edelweiss Air cancelled flights from Zurich to Podgorica.
Now Swiss has further announced the suspension of its flights from Zurich to Sarajevo from the end of this summer schedule.
Only in 2015, the carrier still saw sustained growth potentials in the Balkan market calling for more direct air services from Switzerland.
