Jul 27, 2016 (newstodate): Decline in the demand for air travel in Russia has made Singapore Airlines re-think its use of Moscow for 5th freedom flights.
Taking effect from October 30, 2016, with the beginning of the new winter schedule, Singapore Airlines will route its 5th freedom transfer flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to Manchester, in the UK, on the Singapore-Houston connections.
Starting from March 20, 2008, with three weekly rotations, increasing to five in 2009, the frequency was further upped to daily flights from November 2010.
Also from the start of the winter schedule, the carrier will reduce its frequency on the flights between Singapore and Moscow from currently five to four weekly rotations, against daily services until the outbreak of the global economic crisis.
