Jul 27, 2016 (newstodate): The first half of 2016 was marked by an over-all decline in cargo carried by Russian airlines by 7.1 percent, y-o-y, to 433,472 tonnes.
Leading the Top-5 league was as always AirBridgeCargo with 235,685 tonnes, but this was still down 19 percent, y-o-y.
#2 Aeroflot was up 13.4 percent to 74,240 tonnes, #3 Sibir also managed a growth by 13 percent to 15,664 tonnes, while #4Volga-Dnepr Group was down 17.2 percent to a total of 13,981 tonnes.
Final carrier on the Top-5 league was UTAir that added 66 percent to 13,046 tonnes.
Together, the volumes of the five leading carrier were thus down 11.7 percent, but they still generated 80.7 percent of all cargo carried by Russian airlines during January-June 2016.
