Jul 25, 2016 (newstodate): First airline to be operating the new Bombardier CS300 aircraft, Latvia's airBaltic will take delivery of its first aircraft with another slight delay to the plan.
After the final certification from Transport Canada on July 11, 2016, the company has announced that its first CS300 delivery is now slated for Q4, 2016, with no firm date yet published.
So far, airBaltic had expected this to happen already by September this year.
airBaltic has placed firm orders for the delivery of a total of 20 CS300 aircraft, with the first four expected to be in the fleet before the end of 2016.
The first deliveries were originally slated for 2013 but the launch flight by the CS100 aircraft was only on September 26, 2013, about one year later than originally planned as the program was hit by numerous technical and not least financial snags along the way.
As late as November 2015, the carrier still expected to have 10 CS300 aircraft flying before the end of 2016,
