Jun 21, 2016 (newstodate): New at Latvia's Riga Airport is now a direct year-round service connecting the country with Israel.
With the first flight on June 20, 2016, the Hungarian LCC WIZZ Air has launched services between Riga Airport and Tel Aviv, offering two weekly rotations on the route with Airbus A320 aircraft.
With this new route Wizz Air is now offering services on a total of nine routes to six countries from Latvia after setting up its first operation from Latvia a on March 13, 2010, with a flight from Riga to Oslo Sandefjord Airport, in Norway.
Earlier operators on the route have been Israir in 2003 and Sun d'Or International Airlines during summer seasons from 2010, as well as the Latvian carrier airBaltic that earlier also operated seasonal flights on the route.
