Jun 21, 2016 (newstodate): Turkish Cargo has announced the opening of a new freighter service between Istanbul and Helsinki, Finland.
The latest new addition is an Airbus A330-200F rotation from Istanbul to Helsinki, continuing to Belgrade, Serbia, before returning to Istanbul on Saturdays.
Turkish Cargo is already operating two freighter rotations at Helsinki Airport since December 2011, one operating on the route from Istanbul-Arlanda-Helsinki-Istanbul, the other routed Istanbul-Vienna-Helsinki-Istanbul.
-We do, however, operate a different type of scheduling system what we call dynamic scheduling, allowing us to change the routing effectively in accordance with concrete market demands, says Efe Ozler, Turkish Cargo Regional Manager Helsinki.
Turkish Cargo is a major cargo customer of Swissport Finland that launched business at Helsinki Airport on December 1, 2011.
As earlier reported by newstodate, one example of this "dynamic Scheduling" is the current series of some nine Turkish Cargo freighter calls at Oslo Airport testing the Norwegian market to ascertain the viability of a future dedicated Turkish Cargo operation.
