Jun 28, 2016 (newstodate): The coming tender for a concessionaire to manage the commercial activities of Lithuania's three airports is planned for launch by Q4, 2016.
After the Lithuanian parliaments' approval of the pertinent law, the Ministry of Transport and Communication is now starting work with its selected consultant, the Dutch InterVISTAS Consulting Group, to produce the documentation and materials for opening the tender process.
-Everything is going smoothly, and the plan is to see the tender completed by the end of 2017, allowing for the concessionaire to take over the commercial management of the airport of Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga from January 1, 2018, Arijandas Sliupas, Vice Minister of Transportation.
Since July 1, 2014, all three state-owned international airports in Lithuania - Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga - have been under unified management as one Plc, with Gediminas Almantas as CEO.
