Jun 20, 2016 (newstodate): Tajikistan's first privately-owned carrier Somon Air has named a new CEO, Thomas W. Hallam II.
Mr Hallam replaces Eugenio Jaime Manzano, holding the position since May 2015.
Mr Hallam entered the aviation world in 1972 as USAF pilot and moved to Delta Air Lines in 1978, working with this carrier for 28 years.
Mr Hallam is the third foreign national to lead carrier that was also managed by Lloyd Paxton as CEO from October 2012 to May 2015.
The carrier, based at Dushanbe, performed its first commercial flight on February 5, 2008, opening up with services to Moscow and later, on July 29, 2009, adding services to Frankfurt, Germany, as its first flight into Europe
