Jun 276, 2016 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes through Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport were down in May - but total volumes are still on the rise in 2016.
A total of 795 tonnes of cargo was handled during January-May 2016, up 11 percent, y-o-y, excluding trucked cargo that, however, accounts for most of the cargo traffic at the airport.
So far March 2016 was the busiest in terms of flown cargo that increased by 27 percent, y-o-y, to 181 tonnes.
Among the leading cargo operators at the airport is Turkish Cargo with a weekly call at Serbia's Belgrade Airport on the route Istanbul-Madrid-Belgrade-Istanbul operated with an Airbus A330-200F freighter aircraft carrying up to 70 tonnes of cargo.
