Jun 27, 2016 (newstodate): Scan Global Logistics is satisfied with its plans for expansion in the Norwegian market - despite a challenging timing..
-We are now present with own offices in Bergen, opening from March 1, 2016, Stavanger as well as Oslo, and with the new assignments we are adding competencies and resources with strong backgrounds in the industry, says Dag Ulstein, Scan Global Norway managing director.
-It cannot be denied, of course, that times are rather tough in the Norwegian market, with a significant decline in the global oil prices and the subsequent downsizing in the country's oil and gas industry.
-But we have come off to a good start in Bergen, with new contracts with significant customers. Despite the general down-turn in the industry there is still a need for tailored services by competent providers, and we have secured staff to serve the industry with top-end quality.
-After all, setting up the new office and strengthening our focus on the Norwegian market is a strategic decision by Scan Global, and this of course means that we are taking a long-term approach to this market.
-In Norway, customers want, and expect, to be handled by locally-based providers. There is high degree of local patriotism that must be respected, and this is one of the driving factors behind our decision to set up the new office, says Mr Ulstein.
