Jun 14, 2016 (newstodate): Little seems to have come out of the recent three-days aviation talks in Moscow between Russia and Germany.
The German side would need more overflight rights for Lufthansa Cargo through Russia's Siberian airspace and accept of AeroLogic's position as 2nd designated cargo carrier relieving it of the burden to apply for individual ad-hoc permissions for flights through Russian airspace.
The Russian side was requesting primarily more 5th Freedom rights in Germany for Transatlantic flights by ABC and other carriers.
According to the protocol signed at the end of the meetings, AeroLogic as the second, non-designated German cargo carrier will be granted 21 weekly one-directional charter flights along the Trans-Siberian route network - but these operations will still require individual applications as hitherto.
The protocol does not touch on the Russian request for more 5th Freedom Rights in Germany indicating that no agreement was reached on this issue.
