Jun 23, 2016 (newstodate): The Polish carrier LOT has announced the opening of flights from Warsaw to its third Asian destination: Seoul, South Korea.
The carrier will start operations on the route from October 17, 2016, offering three weekly rotations on the route with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
Due to lack of traffic rights to operate in Russian airspace over Siberia, the return flight is more than two hours longer than the outbound flight that, however, is also helped by the jet stream.
LOT opened flights to its first Asian destination, Beijing, in May 29, 2012, and the second Asian route connects Warsaw to Tokyo from January 13, 2016.
Also to follow in 2016, according to earlier announcements, will be the opening of flights from Warsaw Bangkok in the autumn.
Further down the road, LOT may be considering a return to Hanoi, Vietnam, that was originally launched as a new route in October 2010, but suspended again in February 2012.
