Jun 27, 2016 (newstodate): Cargolux may be increasing its traffic through Turkmenistan.
Under the existing air services agreement signed in 2015, the carrier can perform up to eight scheduled freighter rotations between Luxembourg and Turkmenistan's Ashgabat Turkmenbashi Airport.
The Turkmen government is however considering raising this volumes to allow for more cargo traffic utilizing Turkmenistan's potential as a cargo hub serving the Central Asian region.
The first call by Cargolux to Turkmenbashi International Airport was performed on July 1, 2015, as a stop on the route from Hong Kong to Budapest, Hungary with a Boeing 747-400F aircraft.
