Jun 06, 2016 (ne2stodate): During the first four months of 2016, only one of the three international airports serving the Moscow area managed to grow its passenger volumes.
The exception was Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport where volumes grew by 9.2 percent, y-o-y.
By contrast, Moscow Domodedovo Airport's passengers volumes were down three percent, and at Moscow Vnukovo Airport the decrease was close to 25 percent.
Jointly, the three airports passenger volumes were thus down 2.4 percent, to 20.244 mio.
This decline in air transport was also reflected in the volumes of passengers carried by Russian airlines.
Together, they saw volumes down by 3.8 percent, y-o-y, to 22.486 mio, and their traffic on international routes dropped by as much as 22.9 percent.
