Jun 13, 2016 (newstodate): Swissport International has landed a five-year extension of its handling contract with Finnair at the carrier's hub at Helsinki Airport.
Swissport Finland, the largest handling provider at the airport, launched business at Helsinki Vantaa Airport on December 1, 2011, contracted by Finnair to provide baggage and apron services replacing the carrier's earlier provider Barona Handling.
While Finnair provides the bulk of the traffic handled, Swissport Finland, managed by Roland Etter as CEO, is also handling other airline customers including Aeroflot, Ukraine International Airlines, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, Swiss and a number of charter carriers.
Swissport Finland also provides cargo handling at Helsinki Airport, with Turkish Airlines Cargo as one of its major customers.
