Jun 16, 2016 (newstodate): After a long pause, Copenhagen Airport has now regained a direct connection to Sofia Airport, in Bulgaria.
With the first flight on June 13, 2016, the Hungarian LCC WIZZ Air has launched services between the two destination using Airbus A320 aircraft on three weekly rotations.
The route was earlier served by Bulgaria Air, and Cimber Sterling also opened flights from Copenhagen to Sofia with two weekly rotations from April 1, 2010, before flying into bankruptcy.
Sofia has thus become the second destination from Copenhagen Airport by WIZZ Air that started flights to Copenhagen from Skopje, in Macedonia, from March 22, 2016.
In Denmark, Wizz Air is also present at Billund Airport since June 19, 2015, with two weekly flights between Billund and Gdansk, in Poland, adding two weekly flights from July 22, 2015, between Romania's Cluj Airport and Billund, and between Vilnius and Billund from September 14, 2015.
