Jun 08, 2016 (newstodate): The Russian low-cost carrier Pobeda, a subsidiary of Aeroflot, will take in more aircraft in 2017.
The carrier will take delivery of five more Boeing 737-800 aircraft during the year,m bringing the fleet to 17 aircraft by year-end.
Pobeda first took to the air on Dec. 1, 2014, and now operates a fleet comprising 12 Boeing 737-800 aircraft on a route network including some 40 regional routes to and from Moscow.
The new aircraft will be leased directly from Boeing and were originally contracted for Dobrolet, the predecessor of Pobeda that had to be closed down in 2014 due to Western sanctions that annulled all leasing, servicing and insurance contracts covering the Boeing 737-800NG aircraft that should provide Dobrolet with uplift.
