Jun 24, 2016 (newstodate): ACI is unhappy with security measures at Russia's airports.
The organization has sent a letter to the Russian prime minister pointing out, that outsourcing airport security to external providers, such as private companies, is not an ideal solution as these providers will not have the solid position and authority within the airport management to fully secure the safety and security of passengers.
ACI is also highly critical of the procedure to have all passengers and visitors screened at the entrance to the airport terminals, which leads to large crowds forming a potential risk of terrorist attacks outside the terminal.
ACI points to experience from other airport, including Tel Aviv, where actual security screening starts already with control of vehicle license plates and monitoring of the parking areas to control mass movements.
