May 31, 2016 (newstodate): At its 2016 Annual General Meeting held on May 25, 2016, the Swedish/UK cargo carrier West Atlantic confirmed Fredrik Groth as the company's new CEO.
In January 2016, Mr Groth was put in at an extraordinary general meeting as interim CEO to lead the company until the 2016 Annual General Meeting, replacing Gustaf Thureborn, CEO and President and in an executive position with the company since 1995, who was unexpectedly relieved of his position.
West Atlantic had a challenging year 2015 with decreasing sales, issues with aircraft capacity and certain losses of contracts, and in the early 2016 the company has also suffered from a fatal aircraft accident.
