May 10, 2016 (newstodate): According to an Estonian radio station, the board of Tallinn Airport will meet today with the selection of a new Airport CEO on the agenda.
26 applicants have handed in their papers by the expiry of the deadline, and the initial task will be the shortlisting of candidates to be invited for interviews.
The position as Tallinn Airport CEO became vacant as the earlier holder since 1998, Rein Loik, handed in his resignation without prior notice, planning for a peaceful retirement.
Meeting on February 29, 2016, the Board decided to continue with two management board members until a new chairman has been selected via a public competition.
The management board thus now comprises Anneli Turkin, Tallinn Airport CFO, and Einari Bambus, Tallinn Airport COO, who is serving as interim chairman until the new chairman is selected.
The incoming new CEO will take on the responsibility for carrying through the extensive 120 mio Euro development projects facing the airport over the coming two-three years, including extension of the runway, extension of the existing passenger terminal and other infrastructure.
