May 24, 2016 (newstodate): The new Finnish carrier under formation, Go! Aviation has again adjusted its plans for start of operations, originally slated for the first week of April this year.
The first operation was planned with flights on routes between Kuopio and Helsinki as well as between Helsinki and Tallinn, Estonia, with ambitions to grow the network at a later stage to include routes from Finland to Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Holland and other European markets.
The issue of certification of the carrier's first aircraft, a Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, is however still drawing out and will require some time before eventually solved.
-As of today, our plans are to start charter flights in June 2016, and in July 2016 commercial flights will start on the route between Helsinki and Tallinn, Estonia, says Jorma Kario, Go! Aviation CEO.
-During summer, demand for air travel to and from Kuopio is rather limited, so flights on the route between Helsinki and Kuopio will start only by August 2016.
-As for further growth of the route network, our plans for expanding with routes from Finland to destinations Scandinavia and beyond remain, but this will come only in 2017, also needing more aircraft capacity, says Mr Kario.
In Sweden Go! Aviation will offer flights to Stockholm Bromma and Malmoe Airport, in Denmark destinations will be Roskilde Airport and Odense HCA Airport, while flights to Norway will come further down the road.
