May 09, 2016 (newstodate): Weak demand in the market is driving SAS to stop own flights to Russia.
The route from Copenhagen to Moscow was closed down already earlier this year, and from September 3, 2016, the route to Moscow from Stockholm will also be suspended.
During this summer schedule, SAS is however still offering four weekly flights from Copenhagen to St Petersburg, and five weekly rotations from Stockholm.
Before the current crisis, SAS considered the Russian market a key driver with huge potentials, and Kaliningrad was added to the route network from March 25, 2012, bringing the volume of SAS flights to Russia to 35 weekly rotations from Scandinavia - but suspended again from September 1, 2013
