May 19, 2016 (newstodate): Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has landed its - and the country's - first direct air connection to Macao, in Southern China.
The route opening on May 17, 2016, was provided by the Russian charter airline Royal Flight that will operate the route between Moscow and Macao with one weekly rotation using Boeing 767-300 aircraft, mainly targeting Russian tourists to Moscow.
With the first flight on March 8, 2014, Royal Flight now operates a fleet comprising Boeing two 767-300, five Boeing 757-200, and one Boeing 737-800, in addition to orders for one more Boeing 767-300 and two more Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Two if the Boeing 757-200 aircraft were earlier operated by airBaltic that placed the aircraft on a dry-lease contract with the Russian airline in 2013.
