May 30, 2016 (newstodate): Pending final approval by Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, a new Russian cargo carrier will lift off in summer 2016.
Direct-Avia, headed by Sergey Kukarev as CEO, will take in two leased TU-204 freighter aircraft operated by Transaero from April 2013 until the carrier folded its wings in 2015.
Plans are for Direct-Avia to launch services from Moscow Vnukovo Airport on both domestic and international routes, including flights between China and Russia in cooperation with a Chinese partner.
