May 24, 2016 (newstodate): Streams of Lithuanian/Polish and Chinese investments have converged to form a new JV aiming to establish a new aircraft leasing company.
Participating in the JV are AviaAM Leasing, a Warsaw Stock Exchange listed aircraft leasing company, and the Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company.
The target will be the narrow-body aircraft markets in China and other thriving economies of Asia seeing double-digit air traffic growth and local carriers requiring thousands of new aircraft over the following 15-20 years.
To bridge the gap between aircraft manufacturers' production limits and airlines' insatiable demand for capacity, the fleet of AviaAM Leasing and HNCA JV will include both newly built and mid-life Boeing 737 NG and Airbus A320ceo aircraft.
In the European context, Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company, set up in 2011, will already be known from the acquisition in December 2013 of 35 percent of Luxembourg's cargo carrier Cargolux.
