May 23, 2016 (newstodate): The Czech Republic's Prague Airport is seeing a hefty hike in its cargo volumes in 2016.
During the first four months of this year, the growth has been 39.94 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 21,093 tonnes.
In April 2016 alone, the growth rate was 55.17 percent, y-o-y, to 6,028 tonnes.
Since January 12, 2016, UPS has introduced a daily Boeing 757 freighter service at Prague connecting to the hub at Liege, and starting from March 3, 2016, Qatar Airways Cargo has launched a twice-weekly Airbus A330-200PF freighter services at Prague, greatly adding to the cargo potentials at the airport.
Also starting from May 1, 2016, Emirates has replaced its Boeing 777-300 on the route with the A380 aircraft on daily flights on the route.
