May 11, 2016 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport is awaiting the start of services by Beijing Capital Airlines during summer 2016.
The carrier performed its first flight on September 3, 2015, with one weekly flight with Airbus A330-200 aircraft from Hangzhou and Beijing, respectively, to Copenhagen carrying Chinese tourists on package tours sold only by the Chinese tour operator Caissa Touristic.
The company decided to extend the program in 2016 to seven months, bringing a total of over 11,000 Chinese passengers visiting the country.
So far, the start-up date of 2016 services has still not been announced.
-As far as we are informed, the airline is still awaiting the approval from the Chinese CAA of their schedule flights to Copenhagen. We can only wait for the issues to be solved, but hope for an early decision, says a spokesman for the Danish airport.
The flights to Copenhagen are the first international operations by Beijing Capital Airlines.
According to China Aviation Daily, Beijing Capital Airlines will also launch flights from Beijing to Helsinki, starting from May 2017 with two weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
