Apr 25, 2016 (newstodate):Ukraine is keen to develop the potentials of its capital airport, Kiev Boryspil Airport.
The airport has seen two new international airlines opening traffic in the first quarter of this years, Iran's Mahan Air flying in from Tehran, and the Greek carrier Aegean with flights from Athens.
Expectations to see another three new international airlines launching flights to Kiev during this coming summer.
Efforts are now also being geared up to finalize a project for construction of a new cargo transit center at the airport, with technical and other details to be published soon.
This project will hinge of the ability to attract foreign investors to take a stake in the new cargo complex.
In 2015, the airport handled a total of 25,036 tonnes of cargo, down 0.7 percent, y-o-y, and 5,062 tonnes of mail, up 2.4 percent
