Apr 29, 2016 (newstodate): While still not officially announced, the Turkish carrier Atlasglobal has put Copenhagen on its route map as a new destination displayed on its website.
According to its booking site, the carrier will be offering five weekly rotation between Istanbul Ataturk Airport and Copenhagen starting from June 24, 2016, using Airbus A320 aircraft on the route.
The new airline will thus compete head-on with Turkish Airlines, also flying the same route with three daily rotations plus one daily flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Copenhagen, while Pegasus Airlines also offers 10 weekly rotations between Istanbul and Copenhagen.
Copenhagen will be Atlasglobal's second Scandinavian destination after Stockholm that was included from March 16, 2016, with a daily flight, bringing the total of daily flights between Istanbul and Stockholm to up to seven rotations as both Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines are already on-line on the route.
Atlasglobal, until March 2015 trading under the name of Atlasjet, operates scheduled domestic and international passenger services as well as charter flights, mostly out of its base at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, with a fleet of 21 Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
