Apr 21, 2016 (newstodate): After a period of absence, Thai Airways is again planning its return of services to Russia.
Plans are to re-launch direct nonstop services from Bangkok to Moscow from November 1, 2016, in time for the start of the next tourist season in Thailand.
Like most international carriers, Thai Airways suspended its flights four times weekly with Boeing 777 aircraft on the route from March 29, 2015, as market demand dropped due to the unstable situation between Russia and west in the wake of the wars in Ukraine and Russia's annexation of the Crimea.
Thai Airways first launched services on the route to Moscow Domodedovo Airport from November 1, 2005, with three weekly flights using Airbus 340-600 aircraft.
