Apr 27, 2016 (newstodate): Small Planet Airlines Germany is soon to become a "real" airline on its own.
The great divider in the history of the young carrier established in May 2015 and so far operating aircraft on lease from Lithuanian mother carrier, is the final granting of the airline's own German AOC and deliveries of own aircraft.
Small Planet Airlines Germany will thus start operations with an own AOC by May 13, 2016, initially leasing two Airbus A320 aircraft - one earlier operated by Niki, another by Air Berlin, and temporarily adding two more aircraft from the mother company from November 2016.
After leaving the paint shop, the two own Airbus aircraft are due for delivery early in May, placed on German aircraft registry.
The carrier will thus operate the Summer 2017 schedule with four aircraft, growing the fleet to "at least" six Airbus A320 Family aircraft from Summer 2018.
