Apr 14, 2016 (newstodate): Refuting information circulating in Estonian media, the Slovenian carrier Adria Airways claims to have no plans for launching flights on own routes from Estonia.
-Adria Airways currently has no plans for opening own routes out of Estonia outside of the cooperation with Nordica, says an Adria Airways spokesperson in response to an inquiry by newstodate.
According to media reports earlier this year, Adria Airways would operate flights from Tallinn to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, in Ukraine, during the next winter schedule, offering two weekly rotations on each route during the period December 17, 2016, to March 25, 2017.
Whether or not these plans were actually ever on the agenda, they would in any case be scrapped by the new German owner, the investment fund, 4K Invest, that acquired 96 percent of Adria Airways' shares from the Slovene state in March 2016 and immediately enforced a thorough revamp of the carrier and its route network.
Adria Airways remains heavily engaged in Estonian aviation after the demise of Estonian Air, building a close cooperation with the new Estonian carrier Nordica from November 2015, including the use of its AOC and commercial platform.
