Apr 26, 2016 (newstodate): Oslo will soon get a direct air-link again to Russia's "Baltic capital", St Petersburg.
The Russian carrier RusLine has announced its plans to launch flights on the route starting from June 1, 2016, offering four weekly rotations with Bombardier CRJ100 or -200 aircraft so far till the end of the summer schedule in October 2016.
The route was operated by Norwegian from May 3, 2006, but the carrier pulled out again from October 23, 2015, citing low demand in the market.
Norwegian also launched five weekly flights from Oslo to Moscow Domodedovo from August 16, 2008, but closed down already on February 9, 2009, after only half a year's performance.
In 2008, RusLine, based in Moscow, was actually the first airline to operate scheduled flights with a Bombardier CRJ regional aircraft in Russia.
In the fleet now are a total of 19 Bombardier CJR aircraft including seven Bombardier CRJ100 and eight Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft, as well as two Airbus A319 and one Embraer 120 aircraft.
