Apr 19, 2016 (newstodate): Norwegian's Irish subsidiary has now at long last obtained permits to start Transatlantic flights from Ireland to the USA.
The permission by DOT to start flights by its Irish EU-based subsidiary will allow Norwegian to greatly expand its scope of business that has so far been restrained by flying rights obtained by the Norwegian company that is a non-EU carrier.
As a consequence, Norwegian has aired intentions of placing fresh orders for more aircraft to operate the Irish flights, probably Boeing 787 aircraft.
Norwegian already operates a long-haul fleet of 10 Boeing 787 aircraft, with orders for a further 30 and options for another 12 aircraft.
